ECCA Wire refers to wire and cable that uses aluminum core wire instead of copper as the main body of the cable and is covered with a certain proportion of copper layer. Mechanical properties. The pure copper conductor has higher strength and elongation than the copper-clad aluminum conductor, which means pure copper is better than copper-clad aluminum in mechanical properties. From the point of view of cable design, the pure copper conductor has better mechanical strength than the copper-clad aluminum conductor, which is not necessarily required in practical application. The copper-clad aluminum conductor is much lighter than pure copper, so the overall weight of the copper-clad aluminum cable is lighter than pure copper conductor cable, which will bring convenience to cable transportation and cable erection. In addition, copper-clad aluminum is softer than pure copper, and cables made of copper-clad aluminum conductors are better in flexibility than pure copper cables.

Electrical performance. Because the conductivity of aluminum is poorer than that of copper, the DC resistance of ECCA wire is larger than that of pure copper conductor. Whether this affects mainly depends on whether the cable will be used for power supply, such as providing power for amplifier. If it is used for power supply, ECCA wire will lead to additional power consumption and more voltage reduction. Copper clad aluminum is softer than pure copper conductor and is easy to straighten in the production process. Economy. ECCA wires are sold by weight, and pure copper conductors are also sold by weight. The price of ECCA wires is higher than that of pure copper conductors of the same weight.
